NYC Theatre Trip

April 26-30, 2018

Experience three Broadway shows in New York with fellow North Dakotans!

Hello Dolly! - Starring Bernadette Peters & Victor Garber

This blockbuster Broadway hit bursts with humor, romance, high-energy dancing, and some of the greatest songs in musical theater history. In turn-of-the-century New York, professional meddler and matchmaker Dolly Gallagher-Levi decides she's going to marry the grumpy half-a-millionaire hay & feed dealer Horace Vandergelder - and that's where the fun begins! Winner of four Tony awards, including Best Revival, this new production has been hailed as "a musical comedy dream."

The untold story of the witches of Oz premiered on Broadway in 2003 winning 3 Tony Awards. Now entering it's 14th year, this phenomenon looks at what happened in the Land of Oz, but from a different angle. With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” Wicked transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story and opulent physical production. Long before Dorothy arrives in Oz, there is another young woman born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships… until the world decides to call one "good," and the other one "wicked."

The Iceman Cometh - Starring Denzel Washington

Two-time Academy Award winner and Tony Award winner Denzel Washington returns to Broadway, for 14 weeks only, in one of the most noteworthy roles in all of American theater. Washington, fresh off his extraordinary sell-out runs in both Fences and A Raisin in the Sun,  stars, and five-time Tony winner George C. Wolfe directs this strictly limited engagement. Set in the summer of 1912 at Harry Hope's saloon on New York's lower west side, this is Eugene O'Neill's classic story of a freespending, boisterous salesman who compels his fellow barflies to confront their pipe dreams. Many consider this to be the greatest American play by the greatest American playwright.
