Volunteer

workdays

Before every production we hold a workday, on a Saturday or Sunday from 10 AM - 3 PM, when volunteers help us put the final touches on the set and costumes! This includes painting, finding props, organizing/altering costumes, and doing some final set dressing. No experience is needed! Just wear some clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and any personal tools you prefer using. If you only have time for a few volunteer hours, this is the opportunity for you!

event volunteers

For every event we need volunteer to manage our box office, our concessions area, and usher. Box office volunteers require training, but all others need no prior experience. PLUS, concessions volunteers and ushers get to see the event for FREE! If you enjoy seeing our productions and have an evening or afternoon to spare, this is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!

Crew volunteers

Being a member of a production crew is extremely fun, and you get to see all of the action backstage! For each event we seek a variety of positions, including light board operators, sound board operators, back stage assistants, dressers, make up & hair dressers, and more! Most do not require previous experience, and we are always willing to train anyone interested! If you're willing to spend your evenings with us for 1-2 weeks, this is a fantastic opportunity to volunteer and learn about the magic that goes into theater!

Actors

Our actors are among our most dedicated volunteers. They put in many hours over the course of 2 months to bring our productions to life. Please visit our Auditions page to find out about upcoming auditions. We also encourage you to add your name to our volunteer list below, which will enable you to receive emails about upcoming opportunities to work with Dakota Stage. No experience is needed, and we encourage people of all ages to audition! If you've always wanted to try it, don't wait, audition today!
